About Us

The Rotaract Club of Hawassa is a vibrant and dynamic community service organization based in Hawassa, Ethiopia. Officially chartered by Rotary International on January 12, 2023, the club was formed by the Rotaract Ethiopia Country Membership and Extension Team during the 2022/23 Rotary year. Since its formation, the Rotaract Club of Hawassa has been actively engaged in empowering its members and the local community. The club has conducted various training sessions aimed at personal and professional development, fostering leadership, and equipping members with essential skills. Committed to making a positive impact, the club has undertaken numerous community service initiatives, including blood donation drives, sanitary pad distributions, school material donations, and youth empowerment programs. Through these efforts, the Rotaract Club of Hawassa has become a beacon of hope and support for many in the city. Aligned with the Green Rotaract Concept, the club prioritizes environmental conservation. It has spearheaded impactful projects such as Lake Hawassa Cleanup, Lakeside Cleanup, neighborhood gardening, and community-wide cleanup campaigns. These initiatives reflect the club's dedication to preserving the natural beauty and health of Hawassa. As an active part of Rotaract Ethiopia under District 9212, the Rotaract Club of Hawassa continues to inspire change, connect people, and create opportunities for service and growth.
